This story has already so many heartwrenching situations, I wonder how many more we will have.
--------------------------------------
I'm running trough the city, Tamiel guiding my way. She seemingly enjoys riding on me, as I can hear her giggling from time to time. We are quickly reaching the outskirts, I'm pop flyin' to leave 'Sin City' behind me again, this smell started making me sick. After around a half hour we reach a tavern.
Tamiel wrote:
That's where I heard it. I'm not exactly sure how a guard from Samerkain ended up here, but I guess he has his reasons.
As we come closer I stopped running, Tamiel let go off me and landed on the ground. As I was running fast, we reached it pretty quickly, so it probably is more then an hour away from Eldnoir by walking. I figured it's best to change back to human, I'm not sure how familiar the people in here are with creatures of the night, beastmen and the like; back in my days there was no tavern here. As I take on human form, I adjust my clothes as they are a bit too big, my cloak is touching the ground. Tamiel looks a bit shocked.Tatzel wrote:
What's wrong? Don't tell me you forgot I'm a werewolf.
Tamiel wrote:
No no, it's just... it's been a long while since I saw you as a human, and... you haven't aged at all! I mean, I know you live long, but I only thought that we vampires don't age!
Tatzel wrote:
You forgot that we crowbloods are special.
Tamiel scratched her backhead, it's one of those rare occassions where she is speechless or something is awkward for her. I walk over to her and pull off the hood from her head.Tatzel wrote:
It's not much, but it's still better to show your face when we walk in, we look scary enough already.
We walk in the tavern. It has a nice surrounding... A handfull of travelers are sitting at the tables. Tamiel tugs my sleeve and points towards an older man behind the counter. As we approach him, some of the people started staring at us. The man noticed us, but didn't bother to turn around.Old Man wrote:
Welcome! How can I help you?
Tatzel wrote:
Good day sir. Please forgive me that I come directly to business, I'm afraid time is slipping out of my hands.
He turned around and looked at us. You could say his face had the words "What are those strange people?" written in it.Tatzel wrote:
It came to my attention that you were a guard from the castle in Samerkain. You see, I'm friends with Lady Torizo, and it pains me to say that she is in danger, thus I require certain information I heard you would know.
He seems shocked by my words. His mind is easy to read... right now he is thinking if we are actually trustworthy, but what if I'm not lying and she is indeed in danger?Old man wrote:
I... tell me first who you are! And what exactly is happening!
Tatzel wrote:
My name is Tatzel, and this is Tamiel, a friend helping me. The exact situation is... Lady Torizo held a ball in her castle, and I wanted to accompany her, but a vampire showed up and tried winning Torizo for her side. As kind hearted as Torizo was, she proposed a competition before I could fend off that vile creature. Her task was, that whoever finds the red jellyfish of the southern sea first will be allowed to dance with her. You see, it's not the dance I care for... I'm fearing that when the vampire wins, she could do bad things to my friend. Thus I
seeked out someone who could help me to prevent this from happening.
The innkeeper listened close to my words, and let the story run trough his head one more time. Slowly he started talking again, it looks like he is trusting me.Old Man wrote:
I see... I'm pop flyin' that the fair lady found a good friend. But, I wonder, what exactly do you want to hear from me?
Tatzel wrote:
Information about the red jellyfish in general. I have no idea where to start my search in the southern sea, not to mention I have no idea how to catch them either.
The old man started thinking again. I couldn't tell what he was thinking this time.Old man wrote:
Well alright. But I want a small reward. Your cloak seems to big for you anyways, how about you give it to me, and I tell you in return everything I know?
Tatzel wrote:
My... my cloak? .... Alright, if it's for the safety of her, this is a price I gladly pay.
Old man wrote:
Alright then... I forgot how long it was since it happened, but it doesn't really matter. One day, Lady Torizo was practicing jellyfish magic in the garden. But something went wrong, one spell turned everyone around her in the yard into red jellyfishes. As if this wasn't bad enough, suddenly they scattered and flew off in every
direction. Amongst them was her big love, the shock of this whole situation was so big that Lady Torizo lost her magic abilitys.
I can't decide how I feel hearing this, but I know that I am shocked. I don't know her for so long now, probably just 5 month, so it must been a while since this happened. This explains quite a lot actually... sometimes she was sad, but she never told me why exactly... She saw how determined me and the vampire were, she knew if she would call out a competition, we would come back with each atleast one jellyfish; bringing back her court members or even her love she lost trough this. Torizo... I never knew... why didn't you tell me? I would've searched for them, you
wouldn't had to be in danger now...
Tamiel tugged my sleeve again and caused me to snap out of my thoughts. She looked concerned.Tatzel wrote:
I... thank you. This information will help me further. You don't know perhaps where exactly they are? Or atleast someone who could help me find them?
Old man wrote:
No, I'm sorry kid. But maybe you should rest here for a short while until you recovered, my story seemed to have shocked you.
I didn't answer him, but this was a good idea; I could barely move. I took off my cloak and handed it to him, then started moving towards an empty table and sat down; repeating in my mind what I just heard over and over, pondering what to do next and thinking of why Torizo never asked me for help...
