Hmm, if there are only two then what I said doesn't apply. I'm assuming you've tried reseating it?

I'm going to try as soon as I finish downloading video card drivers, but thanks. I'll update when I'm able to reseat it.
I guess it could be worse though. I'm just glad to have it mostly working.

This or Window's built-in Memory Diagnostic Tool should be able to tell you whether your RAM is faulty I think.

Ah, the days of nonstop Memtest at work when testing fixed computers.

I tried reseating the ram and now it's back to not sending video. Am I just that bad at this? Everything looks to be connected right, but still no dice.

Updated the drivers and now Skyrim lasts for a whole hour before crashing as opposed to the 15 minutes it lasted prior. It's weird since it only happens for a few games. Skyrim and Guild Wars 2 both crash fairly often but Borderlands 2 has yet to crash. I don't get it.

I fixed my ram problem. Now I just have to figure out why the graphics card and the other hard drive aren't showing up. Please tell me everyone's first time isn't this bad.

Eheh, sorry for posting so much. Anyway, graphics card shows up now. Anyone know why a hard drive wouldn't be available to use? It shows up as a device, but not as a usable drive.

This might be of help for some people. Also for future troubleshooting questions please post a full spec list.

Are you monitoring the temps? Your GPU might be overheating for whatever reason. Check your CPU temps too while you're at it, can't hurt.

That I've actually been thinking is the cause. I used to have a GPU Monitoring Program that came bundled with the card but it stopped functioning some time ago.

After trying to find it again to download, I discovered that apparently there was a virus going around at some point with the same name as the program and I assume Avast deleted it. So... any GPU Monitor programs you would suggest?

It looks like once the temp on the GPU hits 60 Guild Wars crashes. The CPU also hits 60 however and I don't think it should be getting that hot being as it usually sits at around 18 degrees or so when I'm not running anything.

60 should be fine normally, though not optimal. Does it do the same thing in Skyrim?

Skyrim is a bit harder to detect a pattern with it seems. Earlier today it ran for about an hour before crashing to desktop. While having it run just now the temperature was stable at around 37 for the GPU and varying between 16-24 for the CPU. It crashed to desktop before the GPU's fans even needed to try keeping the thing cool. The game was running for 7 minutes.
