My laptop can't connect to my new home wifi. Every other gadget I have doesn't have any problems. My laptop connects to the router but doesn't get any wifi, it always says "limited".

So, installing an OLDER version of my ethernet adapter driver fixed that for some reason.

You guys know a good way to clean a buggy computer? The previous owner managed to get viruses on it. I'm getting pop up ads and redirects. Avast and windows defender aren't doing the trick.

At the point where removal tools aren't working, your best bet is probably just formatting the hard drive.

Reformatting is what I would do with any computer I got from someone else, infected or not.

I would.. but it's only fit for the junk pile as it is. It's a pos from the mid 2000s that I'm only using because my normal desktop suicided. I'm just looking for programs that will clear it up without too much hassle.

I have avast going currently and it's found several already.

So, I recently upgraded my graphics card from a Radeon HD6450 to a Radeon R9 270x.

Everything looks beautiful on the R9 but the problem I have is most games tend to crash now after playing them for around an hour. I'm not really sure what could be causing it.

In my experience I've found Radeon cards to be garbage. On the HD cards and up there's an error when using them dual-screen that ranges from mildly annoying (I got some glitches where my cursor would completely disappear or corrupt for days at a time,) to motherboard melting. Radeon apparently knows about it and just won't fix it...needless to say Nvidia has my undying brand loyalty for now.

Update your drivers if you haven't already. Might just be a faulty card, RMA it if you can't solve the issue. That's definitely not normal.

Wow ok. I feel dumb for apparently not remembering to check for new drivers when I installed this thing. Drivers were from November 2013.

Everything is starting up, but I'm not getting video. Blah. I'll go look over the connections again.

It's not recognizing some of the ram, the videocard, ane one of the hard drives.. I just need to install drivers for the card, I think, but I don't knkw why it wouldn't recognize this ram stick or the one drive.

Regarding the RAM, where is it physically? A lot of motherboards are picky about making sure the RAM sticks are in corresponding slots.

There are two ram slots. The one not being recognized is the one closer to the cpu.
