Probably not. I'm sort of a special case because I learned English both at school (where we are taught British English) and on the internet (where most people speak American English) so I speak a mishmash of those. (NOTE: I didn't learn wanker from school, it's just that I love it as a word)

So one of my friends is into finding bad fanfics/writings and analyzing them, including, sometimes, showing how much of the fic is dedicated to fucking/fluff/etc., and she sends me some of the things she thinks I'd find interesting.

Her latest was a pretty boring fic about boys living on a farm in Texas with their smart and capable pa, their "silly little" mother who can't even remember simple math, and their Mexican neighbors (who work for them) and are also pretty stereotyped with a large loud family, being poor as fuck, and generally being lucky that they're nice people and allowed to work under the family. It's pretty much has a deep undertone of "typical bigotry", but what makes this weird is that the fic is an openly gay incest story. The brothers go at it like crazy and no one seems to mind, nor do they seem to hide it or be ashamed even though they're "devout Christians" and fit pretty much every other peg for what you would think about people in this story. The story was written for a fap site, meaning it's there for someone to get off on, and it's pretty odd that this plays on a "TRADITIONAL VALUES" story, but with lots of buttsex, and as usual for these kinds of stories, no conflict, just a story to keep things going.

Neither of us can wrap our brains around where the appeal for this story came from.
