AWKWARD ZOMBIE

You start jogging towards the imposing monolith that is Mt. Leon. You reach the jungle and begin slowing down due the thick underbrush. The airstrip is soon lost behind you in a tangle of trees n' bushes n' assorted jungly things. Mt. Leon is still visible above the trees so you press on southward. Everything going peachy until you come across a sudden drop.A thick mist covers the bottom.
What do you do?

Look east and west for any immediate way around or over.

>You run a ways to the east and find nothing, if anything it get's steeper. But as you progress to the west you find that the vertical drop starts sloping, eventually to an angle you find comfortable enough to slide down.
Will you enter the mist?

Get my trench knife ready, and descend into the mist.

>You slide down the muddy slope taking care not to eat shit, or plow into a tree. You hit the flat ground at the bottom and are enveloped in the mist. You take out your trench knife, slipping your fingers into the brass rings affixed to handle. There's an humid earthy scent in the air. Strange animal cries can be heard throughout the mist. Unfortunately you seem to have lost sight of Mt. Leon
How will you proceed?

Look around, try to identify a route south.

>With the mist blocking out the sun there doesn't seem to be anyway to figure out your direction. As you walk trees begin to grow more sporadically. Little by little the jungle trees clear out .Eventually they stop showing up altogether, just a few scattered bushes.
Will you continue into the clearing or turn back?

Continue into the clearing.

>You continue walking into the mist. After a couple minutes you realize that it's dead quiet, the animal cries long gone. You soldier on undaunted. After an hour or so of nothing happening you notice something up ahead. A massive hulking shadow standing motionless in the mist.
What do you do?

I shout "HEY!" to get its attention.

>You shout out a greeting to the monolith. You get no reply. You yell again, but no response you can see.
Wanna get closer?

Look for a pebble or something to throw at it.

If I can't find one, or nothing happens, just move closer.

>You pick up a rock from the ground and toss it. The rock strikes and a hollow toooooOOOOOoooooOOOOOooong echoes from it. You chance a few steps closer and realize there's another shadow to the right of it, and another farther ahead.
What do you do?

Investigate each shadow.

>You approach the nearest one. As you draw nearer the shadow becomes clearer. It seems to be some sort of large vehicle, dozens of them lie littered about, all of them rusted beyond recognition. You tap one with your knife and rust flakes rain down off of it. Suddenly an unearthly screech splits the mist.
What do you do?
