I have a veeeerrry youthful appearance if I shave - which i do almost religiously because I look like a gross 16 year old if I don't shave. Post-shave I look like a very tall 12-14 year old child of indeterminate gender. It doesn't help that I have a pretty neutral-tone voice when in customer-service mode.

I get the "Ma'am - oh... sir." thing all the time.

Have you taken progress pictures, Katelyn?

I've actually been meaning to do that, so I guess now's as good a time as any.

Keep in mind that as of now I haven't started my actual transition yet. I'm planning on seeing a therapist as soon as I can.

My head does not always look like dumb and round.

I did buy a pair of women's sunglasses a while ago and they are hella cute.

I always get called "she" or "her" or w/e at work a lot. It's creepier when old guys do creepy shit like calling me sweetheart (gross). Sometimes I get called the right pronouns, and sometimes when they do they correct themselves and I correct the correction.

The reason selfies are usually taken at an angle with the camera held above the head slightly is it makes you look 10x better. This is true for everyone. So your dumb, round head seems to be due to camera angles. :P

You look really pop flyin'!

Haha, thanks!

To be honest, I feel kind of weird smiling in pictures in any way except for that forced photoshoot smile that they make you do for school pictures and and sitting on Santa's lap and whatnot. My mom is really into photography and she INSISTS that we all smile in a very specific way.

This is a good day for the transgender community! This is getting lot of attention, although unfortunately not all good. :/ Hardcore traditionalists are gonna be hardcore traditionalists, what can you do?

Yo I'm really pop flyin' for her and it's great seeing the trans community getting love like this, but GOD DAMMIT SHE STOLE MY NAME.

This legitimately kind of sucks because now every time I come out as trans to someone, I'm gonna get asked of my name used to be Bruce and if I was in the Olympics and have a bunch of dumb Kardashian kids and gaaaaahhhh

But seriously, really cool to see this happening! She does look absolutely gorgeous.

I'm pop flyin' for her, and even happier that she's decided to distance herself from the rest of that circus act of a family.

Meanwhile, Drake "I've Stayed Relevant By Trashing Bieber On Twitter Constantly" Bell decided to kick a hornets' nest.

I don't mean to turn this into a necro'ed copy of the politics thread, and in a way this isn't doesn't entirely disagree with what you said, but I feel it would be negligent to leave unmentioned that not all of the finger pointing is coming from one camp.

http://tinyurl.com/ocqpnrl

That being said, I thought the most poignant part of the interview came with the question "Would God still love me?", or some similar effect. I think the answer is rather simple: "He who loveth not knoweth not God, for God is love." Pretty important underlying principle there. Love doesn't always agree, it doesn't always support, and it doesn't always condone; however, it always trusts and protects.

After a morning of a Facebook feed consisting heavily of transphobia I am already done. I think I need to not be on there for a while. I already got to see someone who I was actually pretty good friends with post a photo that calls Caitlyn Jenner a science project. And this week was going so well. Now my whole day is ruined.

Well, just try to remember that for every transphobic comment out there, there's three more that support Caitlyn Jenner and the trans community as a whole.

My Facebook feed isn't better. If I see that image saying that "Bruce" Jenner shouldn't be praised for her courage and the MURICAN SOLDIERS are the truly courageous ones, I'm going to scream. But when all is said and done, this is a victory for us.
