Much appreciated guys! Still tryin to make everything operable, but stuff's comin along. I hope things are goin alright for people here as well.

Well, if we're doing updates, I'm doing pretty well. Enjoying my job in web development, believe I'm even starting to get something resembling a career going. Renting an apartment with a long time friend and enjoying the good life.

i'm moving to washington in a few months, that's cool. the road getting here was bullshit and it's going to be a rough interim but i'll finally get a ~real farm~ soon.

Sweet, updates. Here's mine:

Close to getting promoted at work, and once this semester is over I'll be getting the Security+ certification, which will bring me closer to working in IT. I've also started cooking more and dressing better so my confidence and energy levels throughout that day have both improved a lot, so that's good. We also got evicted and we're moving to some house where the water hardly works, so that sucks, but I'm tryna stay optimistic.

Also, cute buns shazza. ETA for when they will get turned into cute bun skellingtons?

most likely not til midsummer :) they're only two weeks old now, their eyes are barely open - it takes roughly 12 weeks to grow a good meat rabbit out and these guys are mainly coat rabbits, not meat rabbits lol. they're all REALLY pretty though, so i'm looking forward to that sweet sweet pelt cheddar.

i discovered that i can bring meat with me on a plane, so i can bring rabbits to kyle up in washington while we're living apart, and hopefully he'll be able to get me some meat buyers up there and kickstart the business sooner than expected :3

Dude I'm livin that life right now I feel you. No running water so we fill up gallon bottles every week and roll with that. It's made more managable since we have places to comfortably shower, so all in all I'll say it's def not the worst thing

I'm renting a room in a house I absolutely love. Private bathroom attached.

The house is about the same age as the one I grew up in (1900-1910s construction) which has made upgrading the lighting controls A LITTLE DIFFICULT
Half the switches don't have neutral. or grounded.
God help me if I try to change some of the 3-way switches in here, I'll probably lose my mind. I had to vacuum a century of dust out of the switch wallboxes before I could even see the wires


which are also FUCKING ANCIENT. they have a woven mesh fabric cover and insulation around them and the cooper wire itself is reaaallly thick. That makes wiring in new controls really difficult. Especially since I can't use most of the fancy stuff my job wants to give me (yay for working for a smarthome lighting controls company. I can control my bedroom and half of the living room from anywhere on the globe) because MOST THINGS REQUIRE NEUTRAL.
and fuck me are LEDs ever a nightmare to dim properly. LED lighting is a such a new area there are not any industry standards yet so any old asshole can shit out an LED bulb and call it dimmable.
"It dims down to 94%. technically dimmable. slap that shit on the box and charge extra"
TRUE, 1% DIMMING is nearly impossible if you don't have quality control over the controls, the fixtures, and the LED drivers. Also, CFL bulbs? they work in a similar, shit way to LEDs
Or just use halogens or incandescents. I've purchased my first incandescent bulbs since like 2012 because they dim without fail EVERY TIME and its amazing, even if they aren't absurdly energy efficient like LEDs.

This went from a life update to a rant about lightbulbs, I'm sorry.

It's been almost two years since I last posted, hello!

I have moved from the boonies of Washington to the outskirts of Los Angeles. Living with Tuxedo Mask and working in a pharmacy with plans to move into a new place by the end of the year. Still playing games, but have recently been getting into tabletop games very heavily.

i spent most of the day not on the farm and rather doing some shopping then dinner with my inlaws where my mil's bf got real racist and vaguely homophobic which was fun!!
