AWKWARD ZOMBIE

Pierce looked sternly at Punchy.

"Yes, perhaps YOU could explain to us about that. Care to give testimony about your movements last night, sport?"

"You aren't very bright are you?"

"I guess I can S-P-E-L-L it out for you."

"I have a spare ID card for each of you bastards."

"This means I have access to each of your closets through the locker in the train station."

"I also admit to putting at least 1 bottle of medicine in your closet yesterday."

"So the question becomes... what did you really use the medicine for, and can you prove that you used only 1?"

"In any case, I like the suggestion of testimony... let's make the little bastard squirm a bit."

"R-Right!"

Punchy's Testimony:

"So, can you tell us anything about yesterday? When did you supposedly take the medicine, and where did you dispose of the packaging?"

"Okay, okay. I'll tell you exactly what happened..."


"If you recall, I wasn't present for breakfast at the town plaza."
"That's because I was feeling a bit.... under the weather yesterday."
"A little while into the day, I awoke from a long slumber and made my way to T & T Mart."
"There, I purchased one bottle of medicine and used it right away."
"I didn't find anywhere to get rid of it, so I put the empty bottle in my locker."
"So there, I didn't even use the one Nook gave me. I only just found out he gave me one to begin with!"

"Who even uses an entire bottle of medicine in one go..." Whitney grumbled. "Wouldn't you have overdosed, then?"

So Nook put medicine in his locker. He bought medicine and used it. That all seems to add up without murder.

"But Nook said he put AT LEAST one bottle in Punchy's closet, didn't he? We can't say for sure it was only one, and I doubt we're going to get an exact number out of him."

Pierce lets out a sigh.

"The problem with this case is that almost all the evidence points to Whitney. In fact, TOO much of it does. And Lucky already said some of it was forged, didn't he? How do we figure out what's usable evidence?"

Whitney looked down at the ground, hesitating. "Something is bothering me," she mumbled. "Cranston, Pierce, and I found that old map yesterday when we went out on our own...and when we parted ways, we let Cranston keep the map. Punchy wasn't with us, so how would he know about the map? It was found in my house, so someone moved it from Cranston's place to my own. And how in the world did I get drugged? How can that medicine be taken?"

The murderer could have pickpocketed yourPunchy's id card while you were out, got the medicine, drugged you, took your keys and id card, killed Cranston, and planted them on Cranston.

"...map? What map? What was on it?"
