One time I wrote a story about a pure white wolf.
She was a girl wolf, and the leader of a pack.
Humans,who were primitive creatures at the time, came to her and asked for her aid in exchange for a share of their hunts and companionship.
Being a generous creature, she agreed to help the humans.
Together, they had much more success while hunting, and she and her pack helped the humans dig out wells and create dwellings.
Eventually, the white wolf became pregnant with a litter of pups, and the humans spoiled and pampered her in her time.
But after her pups were born, the humans convinced her to give them her pups for a moment, and then she'd be able to see them again.
Now something I forgot to mention is that before this point, when night fell, the sky was devoid of any kind of light.
But when night fell then, white wolf looked up and saw the spirits of her children illuminating the sky.
Everyone around her celebrated the new lights in the sky, and being able to see.
The humans had betrayed her.
So she ran up the tallest mountain, trying to reach out to her children, but even from the highest point she could reach, she still could not.
So she threw herself from its peak.
Her spirit ended up suspended in the sky amongst her children's.
Still too far away to reach them, but close enough to see them.
And that was why the face of the moon is still distraught with sadness.

It was a pretty dumb story, looking back.
