Lobster used to be so common that it was considered lowest class food and was eaten by fishers who got them in their nets.

They deemed it too bad for prisoners too didn't they?

Yeah, crazy eh? And now "gourmet food" is snails and fish eggs. How times change.

Cherry cores emit a poison when they get damaged even a little. It will get emitted even if you just eat the cherry and try getting the fruit stuff off the core.
It's not dangerous to you in small amounts but can have some effects if you eat a lot of cherries at once.

Don Bluth, former animation director at Disney and designer (I think) of the 1983 smash arcade hit Dragon's Lair, is the half-second cousin of Mitt Romney.
See? JonTron is educational.

Doing something with a 1% chance of success 100 times in a row only gives you a 63.4% chance of being at least once successful. If you want to have a chance greater than 99.9% at being successful at least once, you will have to be ready to do the thing 688 times.

I bodaciously have a book called "The Book of Useless Information" in front of me.
Brace yourselves...

Earth is the only planet not named after a god.

The name "WD-40" refers to what it does (water displacement) and how many timed it took to perfect it (40).

The letter Q does not appear in the names of any US states.

When Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980, Idaho increased their crop yield by 30% from the ash.

King George III's diary entry for July 4, 1776: "Nothing of importance happened today."

Thomas Jefferson and John Adams both died on July 4, 1826, exactly 50 years after the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.

Denver, Colarado is the only city that has turned down the Olympic Games from being held there, in 1976.

Michigan has the world's only floating post office, the J. W. Westcott II mail ship.

I heard this somewhere, not 100% if true.

Sloths will sometimes mistake their arms for a branch, grab it, and then fall to their deaths.
