I want to go camp out in fromt of Gamestop Saturday night for the release of Brawl, but my mom says never and my dad says probably not. They think its dangerous and that I'll be the only one there and that nobody ever does that. So, could you please help me convince my parents by showing them it is not uncommon?(please only vote in poll if you have done it before. It will make it look more common)

Kidding, but it's really not worth it. Just wait to get it like a normal person, it's not that hard.

I agree with DieHard. I mean, I really, really wanted a Wii, but it's just a game system. I wasn't going to sit outside and wait all day/night to get one, especially when if I waited, not only would I have a much easier time obtaining it, but it'd cost less. :] If you're really that desperate though, just enter something like 'wii launch' into Youtube. I've seen videos of people camping out and you could show that to your parents.

Or, you could like, listen to your parents like you supposed to. Then again, I'm being let to go out for Brawl, but I'll be with like, 7 other people.

i would never stand outside a store until midnight to get a game while i could be sleeping (i didn't vote in the pole since you asked nicely). however, there are bunches of people who do. i mean, why would they continue to hold midnight launch events if no one ever came?

pre-ordering is the way to go. i pre-ordered my copy of brawl a while ago, so now anytime i feel like on sunday, i can just walk in to gamestop, show them my reciept, and they'll go in the back room and grab my copy.

just to be clear, when i say "anytime i feel like on sunday," i mean the minute i wake up and put on clothes.

Regardless of "what's the big fucking deal, it's a video game", how will an electronic poll with votes and opinions from mysterious forum goers convince your parents?

i say preorder is better. that or wait about a year and then buy it, because then it wont be as hard to get and will be cheaper.

Who the hell is asleep at midnight?

That's just wrong.

Also, I wouldn't camp out for a game. An exceptionally good book or movie, perhaps. Perhaps.

I'm not camping out per se, the line starts at 10PM, any earlier and the Gamestop people would probably shoot us.

I went into a Gamestop in Bawstin while I was there and did that.

If looks could kill, I've be dead thrice over. That guy gave me a glare like none I've ever seen. :awesome:
