... and I love comic books.
I'm willing to bet you haven't heard of MINX. They're new. They're... stupid. MINX comics, a subsidary of DC, is aimed at a fanbase of "Females age 13 - 17" and are
like, totally about girls (like you!) who go to school (just like you!) and have problems (totally like your problems!) so, OMG, finally! A comic for you!
Screw them. No one has those problems.
Why bring them up?

I'm also willing to be you haven't heard of Aaron A. He did a graphic novel called
Serenity Rose, which was published by Slave Labor Graphics (... yes, the people who published Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, Lenore and Nightmares and Fairytales.) -- Aaron A's work is lauded as "spooky-cute" and he is a really nice guy and you should buy his new comic
Kimmie66
Why?
because I said so!
...
Okay, no -- because it's totally aimed at your social grouping... By which I mean
Internet Geeks, not girls age 13-17.*
How so?
Well, just look**:
Come on. I KNOW you love comics.***
*
Aaron A. was approached by MINX because they liked his other comic Serenity Rose, so when told the projected audience of MINX comics, he just choose one of the stories in his head with a female protagonist, which is really the way to go to appeal to a female audience, not to make it about shoes and boyfriends and flowers and crap, amirite?
**
If Aaron's style looks familiar he also did work for character design on Invader Zim. (also on Avatar: The Last Airbender, but that's not as obvious.)

I also know that this is a largely pointless thread, since it's nothing but me pimping some comic you've never heard of. But hey, you get two extra pages more than the teasers in the back of the other MINX comics give you and I'm totally willing to offer you scans of compelling scenes if it'll get you to at least go read the comic in the store. Come on. This comic is awesome. Go buy it. Barnes and Noble not so much, try Borders. Borders ROCKS.
