This thread is basically a place where people who are unsure about buying/trying/doing something new that they've heard mixed things about, but you're sort of leaning towards the 'I want to try this' end of the spectrum.

For instance, there may be a not-all-that-new movie/tv show/game/book/shoes that someone's read or heard about, and has become interested in. It helps if they have done some homework on it, but that's not too important. They come to this thread and say "Hey, AZ, I saw an article on X, but I'm still not too sure it's for me. What do you guys think of it?"

And that's where people give their opinions on the subject matter. Good or bad, that's why people are asking.

Please remember spoiler tags, like when referring to a film. eg. "Oh yeah, I'd rent that film, it has an awesome bit where someone important dies and the plot is fantastic." or "Nah, you don't want that. It has a really poorly-done scene where somebody is left to die but it's handled so badly.

Are heads going to roll if it's not recommendations regarding a specific thing? Because I could really use some advice on sleep aids. Haven't been able to get more than five or so hours' worth a night for a couple weeks regardless of when I start. Something non-addictive, preferably with relatively few known side effects.

Have you tried melatonin? It's in the "herbal" aisle but it's basically the chemical that your brain uses to make itself tired.

for prescribed stuff, i use trazodone. it's non-addictive and doesn't really have a lot of side effects. helps me sleep better and keeps away the nightmares.

You should probably consult a professional for medication instead of the internet.

making an appointment with your doctor would be best, yes; there are various remedies for various sleeping issues

how about this?
I am looking for a new car.
Well I pretty much have my heart set in a certain one.
Its a scion xb (black) for $6500.
It has good mileage and is a standard so even better on the wallet.
Only thing I see wrong with it is that it has 150000 miles on it.
It runs like a dream, way better than my moms kia with like 120000 miles.

Should I go for it cause its affordable?

I'd be a bit leery of the 150,000 miles on it.

Well yea- *sees miles* DAFUQ
Actually my truck is approaching 150k miles, and it still runs rather well. So I'd say go for it and if it breaks down... well, just try not to have an aneurysm.

On a similar car-related note, I'm thinking about selling my blue '95 GMC Jimmy. We got it for $2000, but we've fixed it up since then, replacing parts of the intake manifold and cleaning out/repairing the radiator/coolant system as well as replacing a coolant hose. How much should I sell it for? I'd like to get a decent amount without overcharging, and it has ~145000 miles on it at the moment. The only bad thing I see about it is that it's a little on the less-powerful side; it won't accelerate very fast and it takes a lot of RPMs to get it up to speed, but I think I can fix that by re-timing the alternator (I believe it's the alternator; the one the spark plugs attach to).

What year is the Scion? In any case you may want to ask if you can have a mechanic look it over.

And Sol, how much did you spend fixing it up? You definitely want to charge more than that for it.

Also get a Carfax report on it. That'll show its history, including any accidents the owner may or may not know about.

If I were to buy another vehicle it'd be a motorcycle. You're safe from me, mang.
