In order:
If man could fly would we still want a jetpack?
No. The point of a jetpack is to fly.
Do fictional characters have souls?
No, they're fictitious.
If you kill a fictional character in a story is it murder?
No, because they're fictitious.
If real life had multiple lives, how different would our laws be?(like you could die twice)
Not much, because you're still halving that person's life expectancy.
If we make true AI, does it have a soul?
AI does not necessarily encompass sentience. AI just implies an artificial brain with the ability to LEARN.
If we have the superpower to be supersize, would the cells grow in size or would they multiply to reach the same effect?
Square cube law would cause our bones to be crushed under our own weight, so doing it would be suicide. Also, probably all cells would enlarge, so as to match everything else.
If a murderer kills someone and gets total amnesia, is it still right to lock him up?
Yes. His mind is still the same, just missing some memories, so he's still a danger to society.
If man had 3 fingers instead of 5 would we still count in base 10?
Number language is completely arbitrary. But maybe. It would make more sense to work in base 3, as our brains are wired to recognize groups of 3 faster than any other number.
If all the cheddar in the world dissapeared and could never come back, would there be chaos or order?
Not much would change. Cheddar's only good for mac and cheese anyway. There are better cheeses for every other use.
If we surgically attach a 3rd arm to you, could your brain physically move it?
Dr. Menglelev tried this in the Holocaust, along with a lot of other sick experiments. He failed, and we never caught the bastard. In the future, maybe it'll work, when we better understand neuroscience.
If you are the last person alive and you go crazy, are you sane?
No, because your perception of reality is still wrong. It doesn't matter if no one's there to point it out to you.
If you are the last person alive and you have schizophrenia, are you alone?
Yes. You're just crazy. Also, what you're thinking of is multiple personality disorder, not schizophrenia.
If you clone yourself and kill the clone is it suicide or murder?
Murder. The moment any stimulus affects the clone, it's not EXACTLY you anymore, just someone with your DNA.
If you go into the future and kill yourself, is it suicide or murder?
Murder, it's not you. Once again, he's had different experiences, so he's different from you.
Is the phrase 'God's green earth' accurate considering earth is 75% water?
Nope.
Are the colors we see the same others see? (like is what i see as green what you see as blue)
Most likely, but there is no way of measuring.
Can you explain color to a person born blind?
You know those other four senses, and how everything is distinct in each of them? Everything is distinct in appearance as well.
The big bang was an explosion. What exploded?
Matter.
If the entire world actively practices cannibalism is it still 'wrong'?
Morality is entirely subjective. There is no such thing as "right" or "wrong." Instead, we should frown on "wrong" activities such as cannibalism because they are harmful to society functioning peacefully.
If you had superhearing, would it be always working or on command?
Probably always working, but your mind would adapt eventually and learn to tune most of it out, as you do with regular hearing. If you gained it suddenly, though, it might drive you insane before you could adjust.
If everyone has super strength, is it still super?
Nope.
If you go faster than the speed of light in a car and shine a flashlight out of the window, what happens?
Not even possible in the realm of hypothetical scenarios. Going faster than the speed of light is a universal impossibility. The answer might as well be "walrus."
Is there an 'up' in space?
No. This bugs me about Star Wars and Star Trek. The ships are clearly designed with a sense of UP, despite being spaceships.
Can you be racist against things that don't exist? (elves, dwarfs, aliens)
No, because none of those are races, they're species. I don't care what D&D says.
Do aliens exist?
Near 100% probability.
If we went to a universe with a 4th dimension, could we comprehend it?
The fourth dimension is time. We are in it already, we're just only able to move one direction in it, forward. And just as a square could not comprehend a cube, we could not comprehend how to move in other directions in the 4th dimension.
Is bringing someone back from the dead necromancy?(aka defibrillators)
They're not dead if the defibrillator works. They're close to it, but not quite.
If you resuscitate a dead body its good but if you resurrect it its bad. Why?
As I said, they're not dead. Metabolic processes are still happening, it's just the heart that's stopped. Death will come soon, but not yet.
If you get amnesia do you get your innocence back?
Depends on whether you define innocence by knowledge or actions.
Is there a color that we have not yet found?
We have seen every color on the visible light spectrum already. What we cannot see is every other form light takes, including X-Rays, UV rays, and electromagnetic waves.
If man never had thumbs, would we make artificial ones?
We'd probably make claw-like objects.
Is it more humane to sentence a man to life in solitary or death?
Depends on the man. Some men might want to be martyred, others might be very comfortable in their own skin and prefer solitude.
If we couldn't taste would we still have cooks?
Texture is also important for food. There's a reason people use "tender" to describe a good steak.
If an alien shares human nature, is it still just 'human' nature?
It's still human nature, just not ONLY human nature.
Why do doctors specialize in one area(optometry, cardiovascular, neurology, etc.) while vets study all animal anatomy?
More demand.
If man was not the dominant race on earth, how would life be different?
If it wasn't going to be man, it would've been dinosaurs. Mammals would be limited to small rodents, and life would be like it was 65 million years ago.
If time travel was possible, how would it work?(My version is that if you go back to change something you cant because it already happened)
Alternate realities. There are an infinite number of universes out there, each with every possible arrangement of matter possible. Time is just all of these universes arranged in a sequential order. Going back and changing one detail merely redirects the sequence through another path of universes.
Hope that was helpful.
