'His' name is 'kkkmmm' and he likes 'brass air fittings'.

He posted the exact same ad for some 'brass fittings' website in 'Le Comic', 'Gen. Shenanigans' and 'Videogames'.

These things have attacked other forums I've been on. They start posting innocent enough ads, but once your BBcode forum has been targeted you get all kinds of fucked up ads appearing.

I'm talking ads for GOD AWFUL amateur porn websites.

:psyduck:

Including [img] coding.

:psyduck: :psyduck:

Which you cannot unsee!

:psyduck: :psyduck: :psyduck:

To save embarassment I suggest either Katie or one of the proletariats look into upgrading the forum's member registration system - it may even be necessary to screen every new member before allowing them to post.

These things are relentless once they get going. Best nip it in the bud as soon as possible.

Don't say I didn't warn you! :psyduck:

My air has been rather loose lately...

And I agree with Deletey, spam bots can be horrible once they start going. Open a forum, see some anonymous looking thread by a new user and then giant pictures of porn flinging right into your face

It's not a bot if they passed the "racecar" test. Its a human. They can't keep it up, ban them and move on.

well, if there is another SCP attack I suggest use another forum program because phpbb is popular which means it will get spammed more

I wouldn't consider three advertisement links an "attack."

Best forum software is Simple Machines (SMF), no joke. I used to visit an SMF forum and it NEVER got spambots once the proletariats/admins got all the screening set up. Something to look into. Not sure how resource-intensive it is compared to PHPBB2, though.

If whoever administers the forum isn't too keen on moving, look up some ways to enhance screening besides "lol racecar".

SMF is awesome, and racecar can be exploited just code the bot to say racecar when it hits number ?

Yeah we got a new one of these things register every couple of days over at another forum I'm on. We couldn't tell if they were bots or humans.

They make a fresh account everytime, then set up an advertisement for whatever kind of shit website they're trying to plug (more often than not some form of half-assed amateur pornography).

If we see another one happen in the next few days AZ has definately been targeted.

Just keep an eye open is all I'm saying.

Why would anyone want to target this forum? We only have around 20 regulars.
