You go to the hospital without health insurance they continually send you the bill until you pay it. With Universal Healthcare everyone pays their bill for healthcare so everyone is covered. You're not going to be paying more than someone else and they get to "reap the benefits"

Think of it as a giant "For a rainy day" jar that everyone puts cheddar in and only takes enough out for what they need. If the whole country is consistently putting cheddar into said jar it's not going to make a dent when someone ends up using a bit of it. I think the biggest issue that people have with it is that right now people pay for their own coverage, so its a "This is MY cheddar that I'm using right now to cover MY own costs" with Obamacare that thinking ends up being "I'm paying MY cheddar and there's some welfare queen out there using MY cheddar to pay for her hospital visit"

I'm registered as a republican because I prefer their fiscal plans usually.
I don't actually blindly support the party, and I've voted Democrat before.
I want pro choice and legalization of [insert drug to get high here] despite me not wanting to do drugs. I think people should be free to do what they want, while still being forced to take responsibility for their actions.
I am anti Obamneycare, but I think that the existing system is flawed and could use some change. I just don't think hurting people who work over 30 hours a week and small/medium businesses is worth it. I also want the choice to opt out and not still be charged for the government plan.

most people only see the bold

If you register as a independent you won't have that problem. :eng101:

e: I really wish you weren't pressured to be a part of a party in the US. the only ones who should be in the party should be politicians.

Thing is when you say you're independent people assume you part of the Independent Party. Which I'm not.

Really? That's not who the news is referring to whenever they talk about independent voters. Maybe that's just a California thing.

So some of the College Republicans from my school made it onto "White People Mourning Romney".

For the record, 80% of the student body in my college is liberal.
