The squirrel glanced at Brandon, "My motives? I want to keep this place from falling apart like so many have before it. I want to keep this a halfway decent place for the people who've been plucked from their original homes. I want..." He paused and shook his head before continuing on, "As for the end results, we'll have a brand new and stronger dimensional barrier, which means it'll be easier for me to ship you lot back home, and by easier, I mean possible. If I tried to send you home now, you'd be sharing a dimensional portal with a huge chunk of land that's trying to come in. Right now, I'm keeping that from happening on a regular basis, but I can't keep track of every little portal, which is why you're where you are now, and why Scribbles is there to keep you from getting yourselves killed, at least, as long as you're on that island. If you leave they can't really follow, or else we'd be understaffed."

He then turned to Alec, a smile on his face. "Not every hero has started in valor and glory, Doc. I'm sure that bit of advice will be nicely reinforced by a couple of your guides." An orb whizzed past his face, "As for where you should go, I would head into the center of the forest, see if there isn't any clues you can't find. I suggest taking a traveling companion, if it's for the good of the tribe, I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding a volunteer."

"Well, thank you for that information. I'm still not 100% sure if I believe everything isn't a dream, or I'm having a last minute hallucination before I died, or whatever, but I'll help you in whatever way I can."
