The Canadian schooling system is so different compared to the American one, but I don't really know who has it worse.
We only have 8 classes a year, 4 each semester. The electives we get vary each year, but there are certain electives we HAVE to take, as if they were mandatory classes, to graduate. (E.g. French, Personal Computing, etc. etc.) Instead of SATs we have Government exams, which are basically SATs spread out across grades 10-12. I had 4 exams last year, 1 coming this year, and then depending on what classes I take next year I'll have however many there are.
Apparently any math classes past 11 at my school are so hard, all the teachers tell kids not to take it, unless that's the only class they'll be taking or something. They say it'd be easier just to take a make-up course when we get to college if we have to. So yeah... I'm not going to take math past this year.
