I worked at a bookstore for about 10 months or so and loved it. I got a 30% discount plus an extra bonus week during the Christmas rush where we got 40% off. It was great. Very helpful for building your manga collection. 8)

Now I plan on opening my own bookstore someday, after I'm done with college.

will you stock my books when i finally get around to publishing something?

I was a techie during my first semester of college. It was work study, so I didn't have many hours, and it was in New Hampshire, so the pay was shit, but I loved the job. And to be honest, the fact that we had a scantily-clad paint fight at two AM one night is only a small part of why I loved it. Though that was awesome. The people were great, the work was as close to fun as actual work can get, and the physical labor involved during hell week gave me the best-slept week I've ever had.

That's the only job I actually liked. I've worked at McD's, Dunkin Donuts, BK and Hannaford (supermarket) and Hannaford is the only one of those that didn't invoke fiery rage in the depths of my soul.

Dunkin Donuts was bearable once you got past the boredom (I was a closer, so there was never much business) and my bitch of a manager. I couldn't, so I quit. Through through my time at BK after that job, I thought many times that I would gladly trade back to my Dunkin Donut's gig. I discovered that little business is better than too much, for me at least, and that my manager at BK made the one at DD look like a fucking nun. Plus I got tips there and didn't work so late. And I could eat healthy food there if I so chose. And I got free donuts at the end of the night if I wanted them. And the chick I closed with during my time there later told me that she was gonna sex me up once we were closing without managerial supervision.

In retrospect, that was a pretty fucking stupid choice I made, huh? :U

Most of my non-manager related gripes with BK is the fact that most of the people I had to deal with there were so fucking unbelievably stupid. While working the drive-thru, I had at least fifteen different people come up to the mic and, get this, AFTER I said "Welcome to Burger King, may I take your order?" asked me "Are you still open?"

I swear to god. I STILL want to hurt those people.

Though one good story did come from that. One dude came into the parking lot with a cop, lights flashing, siren blaring, trailing him one night. He came to the drive thru and started ordering. Midway through his order, I heard some indistinct dialogue, then heard the guy say "Sorry, officer, could you wait til I've finished ordering?"

What happened after that is pretty typical, boring cop stuff, so I'll end that story at it's peak.

Dunno if its considered a job since I didn't get paid (Community service mandatory through school. Because they didn't want to deal with us the whole week so they sent us off campus for one day to get rid of us :awesome: ) but I'd say Gamestop for a year.

Alphabetizing the games on shelves because they didn't know what to do with me was hellish but throwing sticky darts at other workers and the windows was fun. Especially when a customer walked in and I accidentally nailed them in the face with one :awesome:

That and totally abusing the demo consoles. That was fun too.

My best job would be my job helping the senior center because it's the only job I've had so far...
