Sailor Moon finally convinced me to read The Golden Compass.

"Hey Water, you're reading The Golden Compass? I think I read that in the sixth grade."
"Oh really? That's really interestingshut up."

For Christmas, my mom gave me this book called The Lords of Discipline. It's about four guys in the Marine Corps. SOUNDS LIKE A FUN READ MIRITE?

As far as really good books, anything by Douglas Coupland is good, in their own... special way...

Actually, I was just pumping out excuses on why I won't read any books suggested to me for a long time. Which is perfectly acceptable. Mostly.

I vote we get completely off topic and make this the official book thread.

After I find my last Summer (or rather, Before-English-Class-Starts-For-You) Reading book, I've got a whole bunch of free-reading I want to do, including the entire Ender saga, as well as the new Artemis Fowl(everybody shut up), which I didn't know was out until recently. Also the new Peter book, and...oh, I saw Michael Crichton's Prey at my school's library so there's that too...

Am I a bad person if I only read books by PKD, Palahniuk, Jonathan Foer, and, recently Cormac McCarthy? Books are just such a huge commitment that I can't venture off to reading new authors. I think I'm safe with these guys.
