Bumping this thread to continue the adventures of Saint Stops Being a Lazy booty Who's Addicted to Eating Out, One Homemade Meal at a Time:

I made some tuna salad and hoo boy I used too much mayo. I ate it over pasta, and I think all I really wanted was like, tuna and veggies over pasta. Welp, I learned to never use more than a barely-necessary amount of mayo in anything, ever.

I bring you people yet another important update about blood sausage.

Also behold my handling of dishes like a responsible adult.

Oh man, my shiitake miso turned out gorgeous and delicious. (lightweight experiment)
Image
(put a small pile of cold bean thread noodles in as an extra bit of pretty with the green onion.)

Here's hoping that sourdough-battered, fried potatoes turn out equally well (slightly more involved experiment)
EDIT: Sweet baby jesus, they did. I steamed them a little too long, and I forgot to let my oil get hot enough, so they weren't as crispy as they could have been, but they are so delicious.

(garnish is a mix of mayo and gochujang, with some green onion.)

Okay, final food brag:
vanilla ice cream with a homemade red apple syrup, and the candied apple peels that I used to flavor and color the syrup. The red got a little less vibrant in the camera, though.

I definitely thought that was bacon in your ice cream, and I got a little bit worried

hahaha, that's what Sloth said. Although I would be worried about the yellow bacon second from the right, whether it was in ice cream or not.
They look less like bacon, and more like frosted leaves in person.

That's a pretty small stretch though, the starch in the potatoes is mildly sweet, and the light salt taste complements a creamy sweet taste well.

Decided to take photos of my last few meals I made for myself

Here's a fried chicken breast sandwich with hotsauce, pickles and cheese

And here's a bowl of steak bites with mushrooms, onions and french fries

I made a couple recipes with turkey sausage instead of regular pork/beef, I know it's lower fat and "healthier" but I really can taste the difference.
