Governments are getting together behind closed doors again to try and censor the internet under the TPPA, or Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement. It's the same old song and dance: Attempt to put in place more strict copyright laws around the world which will put a hamper on creativity, privacy, freedom of speechor any sort of progressive legislation that allows for all three while still staying strong against copyright infringement. The bad part about this is that it's countries only. The ITU (another conference about Internet censorship) at least let groups from other organizations like, say, Google, attend. That's not the case here, though. It's only government organizations who can see the contents of the agreement.
This is really dangerous because it has a much better chance of Passing than SOPA or PIPA ever did. Please help get the word about this.
